In this section I would like to share some of the local resources that may interest you. I believe in the wholistic approach to healthcare and wellness and I see a clear connection between our health and the lifestyle we choose to lead. This includes the choices we make on a daily basis. Many of our choices are not necessarily about nutrition, but they are the choices that nourish our confidence, our dreams, our goals and our causes. Peace of mind and confidence in the decisions we make every day often translate into physical wellbeing and loving spirit. I hope to be of help to you by listing several of the local resouces you may find useful to you at this time in your life!
Pregnant and looking at different birth options?
Consider a home birth and talk to one of the local midwives to explore your personal options about the birth of your miracle! My personal absolute favorites are midwivese Vicki Meinhardt, LM (Licensed Midwife), CPM (Certified Professional Midwife) and Patty Sprinkle RN, BSN, CPM. I gave birth to my little boy at home with the help of Vicki and Patty. It was the most magical experience of my life and these two amazing women made sure that absolutely nothing got in the way of that magic! Vicki and Patty are incredible nurturers and exceptional professionals!
I highly recommend their services. You can learn more about Vicki Meinhardt at http://www.wholisticbirthways.net and about Patty Sprinkle at www.custombirth.com.

Interested in the world of herbs and their healing properties?
One of the local herbalists with whom I have the pleasure of studying this year is a wonderful, kind woman Ellen Zimmermann. She is a true herb whisperer and has a special relationship with the world of herbs. Her garden is gorgeous and Ellen loves to teach others about the special healing mission herbs have in our lives. You can learn more about Ellen and what she offers at www.ezherbs.net
Local Goat Farm
If you are interested in learning about goats, their keeping and their delicious, nutrient-dense milk, I encourage you to contact Lyn Ragan at lynragan@austin.rr.com. Lyn is an amazing woman, mother, educator, friend and goat lover! She has so much to share with those who are open and seek to receive knowledge about these beautiful animals. Lyn's homemade goat cheese is the best I have ever tasted!
Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine
Nicole Lentfer, L.Ac., is one of the most passionate health practitioners I have ever met! I have had the pleasure of knowing Nicole as a friend as well as a healer and I highly recommend her services to our community. She is a powerful woman, a loving mother, and a rock for many who have sought her guidance on their personal path to healing. Nicole's profession is close to her heart and he lives what she teaches, which is rare in our culture today! Her devotion to continuous learning and teaching others is refreshing and impressive! Nicole's clinic, the Natural Health Center of Austin, is located on Westgate Blvd., in close proximity to the Central Market. Vintage Broth, the healing broth made locally
While I recommend to every person to make their own homemade, healing broth from bones, knuckles, cartilage and other animals' remnants, there are occasional situations in our life that require finding trustworthy sources of quality prepared foods. Vintage Broth is a small local company owned by Paul Freeman, a wellness specialist. His gift to the marketplace is concentrated, nutrient-dense beef broth made with great care and wisdom from 100% pastured/grass fed beef. Paul makes his broth, using a traditional recipe where it is slowly reduced over a 72-hour period, carefully strained throughout the process and supplied to local vendors in small batches. The result is life-giving! You can find Paul's Vintage Broth at the People's Pharmacy on S. Lamar (512.444.8866).
